Yes – I do know about that function. I’ve tested it extensively and on it’s own it doesn’t seem to attract Google that quickly. If I make a post and don’t talk about it anywhere online, Google gets to it in a couple days. If I make some noise, Google comes-a-running.

I noticed a few years ago. Yes It’s amazing. On the other hand. Did you took the time to have a look in your WordPress Backoffice ?
Settings -> Writing -> Update Services “rpc.pingomatic.com”
You Blog / Pingomatic is pinging Google that your blog has new content.

If it looks good to google they is no reason not to take directly into the index

This issue caused quite the uproar in the SEO world. As I thought, Google said “this isn’t what we signed up for” and quickly threw Unruly under the bus. They also depreciated the Chrome page for 60 days as a result. Interesting article/comment on Google Chrome. It doesn’t make sense that Google would use a pay per post campaign. They are GOOGLE after all. I’m sure they can create enough “buzz” on their own….

I agree. The problem with chrome was formally reported over a year ago to Time Warner, and they have steadfastly ignored any complaints, requests or pleas!
